Hi honey, I'm home!

I returned from Cuba last night, sunburned and tired. I had such a good time!
You can check out the photos here, if you want.

Now I have a ton of catching up to do, I'm not sure where to start. Especially my blog reading. Sigh.

I started with my SnB friends. Lisa posted this about blogs and comments. Wow.
I leave comments on blogs of people I don't know, only if I feel I have something useful or of interest to say. Why do people need to hear "nice job" 20 million times?
I don't feel the need for a response, and I definitely don't get upset if I don't get one.

I guess because I think this way, I don't often respond to my own commenter's, unless they have a question. It's not because I don't like them, it's more because I'm not very good at non purposeful conversation, unless it's face-to-face (then I don't shut up). Just ask my friends that call me on the phone. I probably come off as pretty rude sometimes! Once I have or have given the information needed, I'm done with the conversation.

But, I do enjoy getting comments, it's a little self-esteem boost each time someone leaves me a note. I just wasn't aware there was a need for a comment back. So, from now on, I will try to reply to all my comments, and I apologize to everyone that has left a comment and felt ignored. Please don't believe it was intentional, only a product of my awkward social skills!

So next question..... If I leave a comment on someone's blog, and they reply back to me, am I expected to reply to that?

Blow Your Top

My boss sent us a link to a personality test thingy.

I, being the procrastinator I am, immediatley dropped all the important things I was doing to complete it ( I figured that since he sent it, I was totally justified). This is what it said:

"You are under considerable stress and you are almost about to 'blow your top' but you are fortunate enough to be able to exert control. Control is the name of the game and it is so good to realise that whatever the situation may be a this time - it will pass. You need to get away from everything for a while and if you do, you will find that, strangely enough, it will seem that most of your problems and situations will seem to wash away, just as the sea may wash away 'footprints' in the sand."

I sent the quote back to him, and pointed out that it was a good thing he had approved my vacation.

He's decided he's clairvoyant.

(What vacation, you ask? One week today, I will be heading to Cuba for a week of sun, sand, beverages, reading and knitting.... Club Amigo Guardalavaca, if you want to join me, it's super cheap!)

Crap Crisis 2007

Yes folks... it has a name! It's just like CNN here in my little world.

Thanks for all your support and suggestions.

I tried some Milk of Magnesia earlier today, at the suggestion of the Nurse Practitioner at work today. No luck.

It was getting REALLY uncomfortable, to the point of pain. I was convinced that I needed to go to the hospital to have my bowels surgically removed, but the very calm pharmacy guy suggested I try ex-lax first. Although, he felt the need to warn me about some pain or something. I think I replied with "For god's sake, just make me poo!". So kids, mark this day in your calendar, it's the first time Dianna has EVER needed assistance with a #2. I'm envisioning a future of meds and enemas, and possibly a colostomy bag by 45. Sexy.

Or, perhaps it was just all over the stress of having a dumb ass paper due on Saturday that I haven't even started. (In fact, now that the poo process has begun, I have no medical issues to distract me from the work... damn.)

And, just to share some more of my freakishness with you.... I weighed myself before the ex-lax... I'm down 1.5 lbs already.....

Warning: Too Much Information to Follow!

I haven't pooped since Saturday night. I normally poo at least three times a day. That's like seven poos backed up in me. It's getting pretty uncomfortable. In fact, I don't think I've ever gone so long without going.

I'm starting to get paranoid that I'm going to need medical attention like Bruce on Survivor last season. I've been assured that I don't need to worry until 5-7 days, but I'm pretty sure I'm worried now (and 7 days without a poo? That's just craziness).

I'm not sure about taking any medication to help, so I've been trying out some of my own "home remedies", things that tended to 'trigger' my bowels in the past.....
  • extra coffee- kept me up last night, but no poo
  • extra bran on my cereal- no go
  • eggs- had 'em yesterday with no effect, I even fried them
  • extra protein drinks- nothing
  • spicy, garlicy dinner- enhanced my breath, but nothing else
  • flax seed on my cereal- tastes weird, and no effect
  • lots of extra water- no trouble peeing
  • lots of running at the gym- I think the poo is starting to give me cramps.....

Today I am at work. I work at a hospital. With nurses. They are formulating a plan to cure me. I think they are going to fill me up with mineral oil, olive oil and prune juice in a couple of hours. I will keep you posted.

Snow Sucks

Did everybody in T.O. get home OK tonight? What is normally a 15-20 minute drive turned into nearly 2 hours for me. But, better late than dead, right?

I don't enjoy know. It looks pretty and all for about 2 seconds, but then I'm done with it. I have no interest in winter sports, so really, I can do without it. I'm done now mother nature, take it away.

In other news, I finished Green Gable for my mom.......
Doesn't she look great?! Sorry for the grainy picture, my crappy camera keeps getting crappier....

I put some short rows in, but because the sweater is top down, they're upside down! It doesn't seem to matter though. I also lengthened the sleeves for her.
I'm thinking I could have gone a little longer with the lace at the top too.

Wicked is going wickedly.... I still can't find those photos I uploaded.... I'll have to take some more this weekend. I've finished the short rows (the right way up, after a couple of tries!), and am about to start the waist shaping. I have a shit load of homework in the way though.... I am so not enjoying my classes this term.
